On its own it is designed for light flow protection, so it works best on lighter days or towards the end of a period. On heavier days, most swimmers wear it as a backup layer alongside a tampon or cup, which is where the reassurance really comes in. It is a strong first step for younger swimmers who are not yet using internal protection and would otherwise sit out a session.

No. The absorbent layer sits inside the gusset behind the full lining, so the costume looks identical to a standard Funkita one piece on the hanger and on the poolside. There is no bulk through the seat and no giveaway seam. Nobody on the lane rope will know it is a period costume.

Yes for training. These are cut and built like standard Funkita training suits, in chlorine resistant ECO C-Infinity, so they handle daily squad sessions, lessons and open water swims without stretching out. They are not Worl Aquatics (FINA) approved performance suits, so for competition finals you would still wear a race suit, but for every session in between they are a straight swap for your usual costume.
