I came back to competitive swimming in my mid-20s and had to rebuild my whole kit bag from scratch. These are the goggles, suits, and gear I trust now - tried and tested through every training session and every race. The stuff I'd recommend to anyone, whatever stage you're at.

Every product here is something I genuinely use. As a returning swimmer, a teacher, and a coach, I've tried a lot of kit over the years - and I know how confusing it can be to work out what's actually worth buying. Because Aqua Swim Supplies stocks all the major brands, these aren't about pushing one brand. They're simply what works best for me.

Race suit

“I’ve always used speedo race suits as i find they fit really nicely, are extremely comfortable and they always have cool colour ways”

Training costume

“I choose my training suits based on how they fit, for a fast, hard set i like them to be a bit tighter and for a drill or aerobic based set I lean more towards a slightly looser fitting costume”

Racing goggles

“I have always used the Speedo Hyper Elite goggles for racing as they fit really nicely and are comfortable to race in. I have also always used the Speedo Speedsockets during training as they fit very comfortably and are easily adjustable to everyone’s face shape, more recently I have used them to race in as well due to how comfortable they are”

Fins

“Arena Powerfin Pro II are a go to for fins as they fit very nicely, they are great for some assisted speed work in the pool and of course a great accessory for swim downs”

Hand Paddles

“The Maru pink hand paddles are my all time favourite, of course because of the colour but also for how they fit. I always struggled with hand paddles as I hated how they made my hands tingle but the Maru ones are a perfect fit for me and I have no problem using them”

Pull bouy

“Arena Freeflow Pullbouy II is essential for pull sets or even some drill sessions as it adds stability to your legs and enables you to really concentrate on what your arms are doing”

Swim Hats

“Swimming isn’t the most glamorous sport, so of course you have to have a funky hat to stand out in the pool”
